Long Term Disabiltiy (LTD) Insurance Information
Long Term Disability insurance provides a safety net that replaces your salary and provides pension plan protection should you be unable to work because of illness or injury. Enrollment in the OSSTF District 25 Teachers' LTD plan is a condition of employment with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Do I have to pay LTD premiums for my entire career?
If you have reached, a 60% unreduced service pension (30 years credited service and the 85 factor) or if you are 65 years old then you are no longer eligible to collect LTD benefits and you should therefore terminate the insurance. Complete the LTD Termination Application form in order to stop paying the LTD premiums.
