Professional Development Committee
1272006_102115_0.png

The PD Committee consists of the 2nd VP Ed Services, Carol Cockburn, and one representative from each branch (regular day schools, the Alternative program, Centrally Assigned, McHugh, Home Instruction, and Continuing Education).

The Committee meets approximately 4-6 times per year depending on the needs of the Committee.  This Committee is responsible for planning and organizing OSSTF-sponsored PD events separate from the February PD Day and for the dispersal of Branch PD funds.

The PD Committee often discusses issues surrounding conference funding for teachers and issues that arise about the February PD Day but is not directly involved in planning of the February PD Day.

We encourage any teacher interested in joining the Committee to approach his/her Branch President or to contact Carol Cockburn.

Funds for attending PD Activities
OSSTF funds school-based PD activities, and promotes further PD activities with the Board through its programs. If you are interested in any of these areas, please see your Branch's Professional Development representatives. Members may apply to OSSTF for up to $500 to help defray conference costs.
